Articles :: Brighton trip 2005

The MLVB Youth Group organised their first summer excursion to Brighton in July 2005. It was a lovely sunny day and everyone was excited at the prospect of a relaxing day at the seaside with friends. A minibus had been organised and the group set off early Saturday morning from the temple in Forest Hill. Aunty Sandra was driving and Aunty Matie was navigating so no one expected to get there in a hurry!. Richard was late as usual & missed the minibus, but really he just wanted to drive to Brighton in his new beema.

Amazingly we all arrived at Brighton quite early but it was already packed with local people and tourists enjoying the weather & atmosphere. We enjoyed a traditional chips and snacks by the sea front, a walk along the pier, some excellent thrilling rides at the theme park and a browse through the wide variety of local shops. Davina acted as our guide for the day having studied for her degree in Brighton & she seemed all too familiar with the local shops. Kimi managed to lose her shoe on one of the rides but managed to retrieve it only to lose it again later in the water, what more can I say. Deemo showed off his driving skills on the Bumper Cars and now he has passed his driving test is apparently playing live bumper cars. By the end of the day everyone had a great time and we set off back for home all exhausted.

We're looking forward to organising our next trip and welcome any ideas or suggestions.
